The Institute of Health Records and Information Management (IHRIM) is the professional organisation for people working in health informatics, be it health records, clinical coding, or information governance – and has existed in one form or another since 1948.

Membership of the Institute is about being part of an internationally-recognised professional body. IHRIM supports its members with professional support and sharing of experience and knowledge as well as up to date information on legislation, best practice and current affairs relating to health informatics. 

IHRIM is also an educational body offering examinations at Foundation, Certificate and Diploma level as well as Certificates of Technical Competence (CTCs) and the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ).
