The Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI) is now opening for its Autumn 2022 Membership round.
Today's blog post is from Ben Sloan, the FCI Membership Manager, to give you an update on all the news from FCI and the tremendous amount of work they have been doing behind the scenes.
I am delighted to announce that we have launched our Autumn 2022 Membership round for applications for Membership and Fellowship of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics. This is our tenth application round and closes on 30 September.
Having grown into a diverse community of almost 1,200 members in just five years is an immense source of pride for all of us at the Faculty.
It also motivates us to ensure that as our membership expands, so do our member benefits and the offering we provide our members. Having appointed our first CEO, Ken Mackness, in May this year, the FCI is undertaking a comprehensive review of how we operate and how we create even more value for our Associates, Members, and Fellows.
As well as benefits such as access to our webinars and Special and Professional Interest Groups, our mentoring Programme, and our Annual Scientific Conference among others, members will soon have access to a Members’ Only area on our website, which will include our exclusive member content, a repository of CPD accredited content, and E-Portfolio to record and track CPD attainment, and much more as we embark upon our transition to what we are calling ‘Faculty 2.0’.
It is a very exciting time to be part of the Faculty and many of our key objectives are underway, including completing our Core Competency Framework which can be used in job descriptions, appraisals and to accredit clinical informatics courses.
The Faculty recently welcomed 15 FEDIP ‘35 under 35’ Bursary for Future Leaders recipients who chose the FCI for their bursary place, and we are incredibly excited about the organisation we are building.
